]]>suit claims that her character (Edie Britt) was unlawfully written out of the show after a September 2008 fight that resulted in sexual and other harassment, according to the Associated Press. On Tuesday (May 3) a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled that the case would go to trial next month, allowing a jury to decide the ultimate outcome. The judge’s ruling threw out sexual harassment and assault claims, but Sheridan’s attorneys will be able to seek damages regarding wrongful termination, battery and unlawful retaliation claims. They will also be able to seek punitive damages. She previously sought $20 million when the lawsuit was filed last year. The trial is scheduled to begin on June 8th. Sheridan appears pleased with the progress so far, saying “I’m very happy that I’m being treated fairly.”
