“Tron: Legacy” and “House” star Olivia Wilde has been cast in DreamWorks’ “Welcome to People.” The film also starts Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks. Pine will play a businessman who returns home after his father’s death and discovers he has an alcoholic sister (Banks) he didn’t know about. Wilde will play his girlfriend, Hannah. ]]> James Franco is about to add director to his long list of job titles. The “127 Hours” actor is in talks to direct William Faulkner’s classic “As I Lay Dying” from his own screenplay. Fox Searchlight has committed to the project and Franco and his manager Miles Levy have been in contact with the Faulkner estate for a while now. Franco is also looking to write and direct Cormac McCarthy’s “Blood Meridian.” [Showbiz 411] Heard rumors about Natalie Portman being in the next Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises”? What about Zack Snyder’s new “Superman: The Man of Steel”? Well, she hasn’t. Portman denied reports saying she will be in the Superman flick: “What is that? I haven’t heard anything.” And Batman? “Oh, I don’t know anything about that.” [EW] IMAX is here to stay. The company reported global box office revenues at $546 million, which is more than double what they made in 2009 earnings. 39% of its worldwide box office was earned overseas (up from 26% in 2009) as the compnay spent the last year increasing its global screen count. Their shares rose to $28.66 on Friday after rumors of Sony considering a bid. IMAX has denied the rumor. [Variety]
