2013 is a big year for One Direction: The boy band has a new album and a movie, “This is Us,” both appearing. The first single from the album — “Best Song Ever” — will be released on Monday, July 22 with the band performing it live at Teen Choice 2013 on Sunday, Aug. 11. “This Is Us” will follow with a release date of Aug. 30.

That’s a lot for a band already on tour to promote a previous album, “Take Me Home.” One Direction will return home in time for “This Is Us” and “Best Song Ever” promotion, including a stint at the “Today” Show’s summer concert series on Aug. 23. A full tour to promote the new album is expected for 2014.

As for the single itself, “Best Song Ever” will get a global release on Monday, July 22.

A 3-D documentary film helmed by famed director Morgan Spurlock, “This Is Us” will tell the story of the group of teen idols from their discovery on Britain’s “The X Factor” in 2010 to its multiple award-winning, 30-million-albums-sold present. Simon Cowell, Spurlock, Adam Milano and Ben Winston are producers for the film.
