Here’s your first look at “The Sound of Music” cast all grown up on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

As Zap2it previously reported, Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer and the younger (although grown by now) Von Trapps will be dropping by to see Winfrey on the Friday, Oct. 29 special episode.

They’re celebrating the 45th anniversary of “The Sound of Music” and its debut release on Blu-ray and combo DVD pack from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on Nov. 2. Among the special features in the Blu-ray collector’s set:

  • 100-Page “My Favorite Things” scrapbook
  • Snapshots from Salzburg
  • Reproduction of the original 1965 Souvenir program
  • Exclusive “My Favorite Things” Music Box with letter of authenticity
  • Quizzes, audio commentaries, backlot tours, a singalong track, screen tests, a virtual map and more

  • sound of music dvds 'Oprah' peek: 'The Sound of Music' cast reunitedOprah has a special place in her heart (who doesn’t?) for “The Sound of Music” and it’s fun to see her do that Maria hilltop spin, albeit much more slowly. We love that Plummer brings out the whistle to summon the Von Trapp brood. Somehow we guess it would be too much to ask if they marched out and introduced themselves as they did in the movie. We’re not sure what to expect from this episode though, but hopefully a little singing and other guest stars from the film. What are your “favorite things” from the film?
