Oprah Winfrey received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree at Harvard on Thursday morning and was the featured speaker at the distinguished university’s 362nd commencement ceremony.

“I’m at HAAAAAARVARD!!!” Winfrey exclaimed in her trademark style to open the speech, which focused on overcoming adversity, working for change and being one’s best self. Winfrey even touched on recent struggles she’s had with OWN network, admitting that the cable channel’s first year left her feeling “stressed” and “frustrated,” but happily declaring that she feels she’s “turned that network around.”

Not surprisingly, her speech was filled with quotable inspirational lines, but her main theme was a universal question related to the human experience: “We want to be validated. We want to be understood. I’ve done over 35,000 interviews in my career and as soon as that camera shuts off, everyone always turns to me and says, ‘Was that OK?’ I heard it from President Bush. I heard it from President Obama. I even heard it from Beyonce in all her Beyonceness!”

So how did Winfrey end her speech? How else but by asking, “Was that OK?”

We’ll go ahead and say: Yes, Oprah, that was more than OK.
