kevin spacey house of cards oscars 2014 Oscars 2014: Kevin Spacey improvs a 'House of Cards' Frank Underwood momentThere was a funny unscripted moment in the middle of the 86th Academy Awards broadcast. When “20 Feet From Stardom” won for Best Feature-Length Documentary, one of its stars, Darlene Love, burst into song during her acceptance speech — the documentary is about backup singers who have always been “20 feet from stardom.”

She sang “His Eye is On the Sparrow,” which goes, “I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free.”

So when Kevin Spacey next came out to introduce the honorary Oscars, he started his intro with a funny little “House of Cards” bit, adopting character Frank Underwood’s slow South Carolina drawl and saying, “And I sing because it’s so nice to be out of Washington and here with all my Hollywood friends.”

It got a hearty laugh from the audience, with Jennifer Lawrence seen going, “Oh my god, it’s Frank Underwood.”

Indeed, J-Law.
