paranormal activity 3 2 paramount 'Paranormal Activity 3' kills with $54 million weekendThings that go “bump” in the night appear to make “cha-ching” at the box office as “Paranormal Activity 3” topped the weekend box office with an estimated $54 million according to Deadline. This is an upward revision from previous guesses at $50 million.

Coming in second place was the Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots film “Real Steel” which is on pace for an $11 million weekend. To date the movie has earned $67 million. Coming in third is the “Footloose” remake that is set to pull in $10.5 million and a two week haul of $30 million.

The other new releases continue fade quickly. “Three Musketeers 3D” earned an unimpressive $8.8 million and “Johnny English Reborn” came in eighth with $4 million.

The rest of the Top 10 include “Ides of March” at $5.1 million, “Dolphin Tale” with $4.7 million, “Moneyball” at $4.4 million, “The Thing” securing $3.1 million and “50/50” with $2.9 million.
