amy poehler red carpet 325 'Parks and Recreation': Amy Poehler hoping to direct another episodeAmy Poehler and the rest of the Pawnee gang return to “Parks and Recreation”  Thursday (Jan. 17) and she shares some of what’s coming up with Zap2it.

Last year, she directed an episode toward the end the season — “The Debate,” one of Zap2it’s best episodes of 2012 — and she wants to do that again, Poehler says, talking before her terrific turn at co-hosting the Golden Globes with Tina Fey.
“What is fun this season is we are doing a lot of standalone episodes in city council, and realizing just how hard it is to get anything done,” Poehler says. “And the writers are throwing together characters that don’t usually co-exist; a lot of people in situations together that aren’t usually together, and what I like is the world is always slightly growing.
“This season you find a video store going out of business,” she continues. “And you find out these little things about Pawnee more.”
Her character, the terminally optimistic Leslie Knope, will definitely marry Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott), though Poehler was careful about what she said about that.
“I don’t want to spoil anything,” she says. “Whatever it is or whenever it is, I am sure it will be the right combination of sweet and very hectic.”
The NBC comedy set in the city hall of Pawnee, Ind., is perfect for Poeheler.
“It is like a dream job to work on that show,” she says. “I think the cast and the show is the best on TV so it and the writing is so great I get to play real big and small moments.”

“Parks and Rec” returns to NBC at 9:30 p.m. ET Thursday.
