Fans who attended the “Parks and Recreation” session at the 2014 Paley Festival on Tuesday night (March 18) were given a special treat: A screening of Thursday’s episode, “Galentine’s Day.”
As the title makes pretty clear, the episode sees the return of one of Leslie Knope’s (Amy Poehler) most beloved traditions — although it’s hastily brought about a month late in the hopes of finding a replacement for the now-absent Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones).
Expect to see April (Aubrey Plaza) and Donna (Retta) on Leslie’s list of possible candidates, as well as a few surprising names who prove that the pickings are slim in Pawnee. And, of course, expect Leslie to handle her vetting process all wrong.
Here are a few more things you can look forward to in Thursday’s episode:
– Ben (Adam Scott) newfound friendship with Jerry (Jim O’Heir) makes it hard for him to let the office’s usual nastiness towards his buddy slide. It all builds to a rather desperate moment that includes one hilarious “Dead Poet’s Society” reference.
– “The results are in: I’m more Goofus than Gallant.” That Andy (Chris Pratt) reaches this conclusion comes as no surprise. How he comes to it, however, is hilarious.
– A familiar face returns and the surprise is too good to even slightly spoil here. Just prepare to smile — a lot.
– History is made when Ron (Nick Offerman) actually volunteers for work. Although why he does — well, it’s classic Ron.
“Parks and Recreation” airs at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT Thursday on NBC.
