deen hiers bubba 2 Paula Deen lawsuit: Lisa Jackson is engaging in a 'smear campaign'TV chef Paula Deen is hot under the collar after a former employee is charging her and her brother with sexual harassment. But Deen’s attorneys are essentially calling the whole matter an extortion plot.

In their response to the lawsuit filed by Lisa Jackson, a former general manager at Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House, Deen’s attorneys reject all the charges. In the filing acquired by TMZ, Deen’s legal team says that Jackson “cannot present evidence to show, subjectively and objectively, that Plaintiff suffered severe and pervasive harassment constituting sexual or any other type of harassment.”

Deen’s lawyers then go on to say that Jackson’s legal team is attempting to “ruin” Deen’s reputation and are engaging in a “smear campaign.” In this they include a letter from Jackson’s lawyers which states that “settlement can occur if your clients pay my client $1.25 million…If we are unable to settle, the Complaint will not be quietly filed.”

Jackson has claimed that the culture at the Savannah, GA restaurant was one of pervasive sexual harassment and that both Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers made racist remarks.
