Stacie Halas, a porn star and teacher who moonlights under the alias “Tiffany Six,” has been denied her appeal to return to her job after being fired in April from Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard, Calif. Students had discovered Halas’ side profession, and a three-judge commission determined that she should not be allowed to teach because of her porn history.

“Although her pornography career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her pornographic materials on the Internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague,” Judge Julie Cabos-Owen says in the 46-page decision released by the Commission on Professional Competence, the Associated Press reports.

In her defense, Halas said she had only starred in pornographic films during an eight-month period in 2005 and 2006 because she was having money problems after her boyfriend left her. She did not continue her porn career after she became a teacher. But because she was reportedly deceitful about her work history and because her time as a porn star ruined her credibility, the science teacher was let go.

Halas’ lawyer said that his client had hoped that, by being allowed back into the classroom, the court case could show “you could overcome your past.” However, Cabos-Owen says the past matters when its only a Google search away, like in Halas’ case.

District superintendent Jeff Chancer reportedly “applauded the commission’s ruling,” and says in a statement that Halas’ choice to “engage in pornography was incompatible with her responsibilities as a role model for students.”
