jake aria pretty little liars ryan guzman 'Pretty Little Liars' summer finale: Jake gets more involved in the 'A' game, says star Ryan GuzmanRyan Guzman has burst onto the “Pretty Little Liars” scene in Season 4 as Aria’s new love, Jake, a seemingly good guy who is much easier to be with than her former flame, Ezra Fitz.

Guzman tells Zap2it that it won’t be all smooth sailing for Jake and Aria, however.

“In the upcoming episodes, Jake will be getting more involved into how much ‘A’ plays a role in their lives,” says Guzman. “When he had to save Jenna from the lake, that was kind of a crash course in what Aria’s been dealing with. So he definitely knows that this is a dangerous world this girl lives in and she needs protection. What better way to be protected than to get with the martial artist?”

This being PLL, however, the fans are naturally suspicious of Jake. So we had to ask — A-Team or not?

“I think that’s the nature of the show,” Guzman laughs. “Jake is a really good guy. I don’t believe he’s going to be on the A-Team. Being so genuine is making him suspicious just because it’s been a rough road for all the characters on PLL. Have a genuine character around is just new to them.”

With the season finale coming up, we had to ask if that will be the last we’ve seen of Jake, and he assures us that it’s not.

“I won’t be in the Halloween special but … you guys are going to awed. It’s going to be a good one for sure,” says Guzman. “The costumes don’t let anybody down, they’re hilarious.”

“Jake will be around [later in the season]. I think he’ll always be kind of looking around,” Guzman adds. “even when he’s not on screen, he might be getting mentioned or his presence will be felt. But yeah, Jake is not leaving.”

The “Pretty Little Liars” Season 4 summer finale airs Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
