Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, were attacked in their limo by an angry mob of students on their way to the London Palladium for the Royal Variety Performance on Thursday (Dec. 9). Fortunately, a spokesperson for Prince Charles tells Gossip Cop, “They’re fine.” So what caused the students to attack the heir to the throne?

The rioters smashed the car, kicking in its side, broke the back left passenger window and threw pain on the car. They are reportedly also vandalizing stores on Regent street where the incident occurred and smashing windows at the UK Supreme Court.
As soon as the car was attacked, protection officers stepped in and ordered the driver to speed away. The couple arrived at their destination, where onlookers said they appeared shaken, but looked unharmed. Police are unsure if this was a deliberate attack against Prince Charles.
