Prince Harry visited Washington D.C. Monday (May 7) to accept an award in his first trip to the U.S. capital city. The honor was the Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership Award that he accepted on behalf of himself and his brother, Prince William, for their work with wounded soldiers. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell was on hand at the Atlantic Council annual awards dinner to present Harry with the award.
“So many of our servicemen and women have made the ultimate sacrifice. The veyr least we owe them is to make sure that they and their brave families have everything they need through their darkest days,” says Harry in his speech.
He then spent time at a reception speaking with wounded veterans. Royal family experts say this is yet another sign that Harry, once known as the “party Prince,” is growing up.
“He’s really developed into a bit of a Royal superstar. His naturalness with people, his ability to engage and his humanitarian side has really made an impact,” says Robert Jobson, Royal expert.
But don’t get too excited, ladies. Word is that Harry is back again with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
