prince harry kills taliban insurgents gi Prince Harry kills Taliban insurgents and is no fan of tabloidsPrince Harry of Wales is speaking with the British press about a range of topics, including his military service and the way tabloids treat his family. Harry also spoke about his ill-fated Vegas romp that had him on the front page of newspapers around the world.

According to Good Morning America, Harry doesn’t appreciate the way tabloids treated his much-publicized partying. The prince says, “It was probably a classic example of me being too much army and not enough prince. People may look at it and go, ‘It was letting off steam.’ Well, the paper knew I was going out to Afghanistan, so the way I was treated by them I don’t think was acceptable.”

Harry also talks about his actual tour of duty, including an attack by Taliban insurgents on his 28th birthday. Harry recounts the story of how 15 Taliban fighters got onto the base wearing U.S. Army uniforms. Two U.S. Marines were killed in the attack.

The Taliban has said they would use all of their power to kidnap or kill the prince, but Harry doesn’t think that’s what motivated the attack. “No one really knows yet,” he says, “But I think it was more toward the book and the Americans.” Still, Harry insists that with your camp being in the middle of Afghanistan, you have to be aware of this possibility at all times.

While on his second tour of duty, Harry has been an Apache helicopter gunner and says he has had to kill insurgents, explaining, “If there’s people trying to do bad stuff to our guys, then we’ll take them out of the game I suppose. It’s not the reason I decided to do this job. The reason to do this job was to get back out here, and carry on with a job.”

On a brighter note, Harry is delighted for his brother William, and sister-in-law Kate to have their first child. Harry says, “It’s about time. I can’t wait to be an uncle.” However, he again takes the press to task, saying, “I think it’s very unfair that they were forced to publicize it when they were, but that’s just the media for you.”

Harry will soon be returning home from his second tour of duty and, like other serving members of the British military, will be taking some time off.
