“Ravenswood” premieres on ABC Family in just a few days, fans. Executive producer Marlene King says the show is going to be an extension of the feeling every year from the “Pretty Little Liars” Halloween episodes.

“We really wanted to explore what it would be like to do a series that embraced all those elements … how do we get to be dark and moody and creepy and scary and do it every week? It’s a good old-fashioned ghost story,” says King.

“We love Stephen King, we love Edgar Allen Poe, we love ‘The Twilight Zone.’ … Those were the sensibilities we brought to this show,” King adds.

“Our ‘Pretty Little Liars’ fans are going to love the show. It’s so much more of what we know they love — great characters, intriguing storylines, romance and mystery.

“But on top of that, we have this layer of the supernatural that we’re exploring,” King continues. “The fun of writing this show is creating more of those jump-off-the-couch moments. … You’re not gonna want to watch the show alone. … It’s one OMG-WTF cliffhanger moment after another.”

“Ravenswood” premieres Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and then moves to its regular timeslot of 8 p.m. ET/PT on Tuesday, Oct. 29 on ABC Family.
