rick ross fired by reebok gi Rick Ross dropped by Reebok over UOENO date rape lyricReebok has dumped rapper Rick Ross as a spokesman after he failed to apologize for his featured lyrics on Rocko‘s single “U.O.E.N.O.,” which seemingly condone date rape. In the hit song, Ross brags about putting the drug MDNA, also known as “Molly,” in a woman’s drink then taking her home.

“Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it,” raps Ross. A women’s rights group launched a petition and media campaign asking Reebok to dump the rapper for sending a dangerous message.

Ross responded to the outrage in a radio interview, saying the lyrics were misinterpreted because he didn’t actually use the word “rape.” He also took the opportunity to give a shout out to “all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies” that misunderstood. Well, apparently that wasn’t quite remorseful enough (duh!) for the athletic apparel brand, and they decided to pull the plug on Ross’ contract.

“Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so,” the company tells TMZ. While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse.”

Rocko announced he will be removing Ross’ controversial verse from the track.
