Ricky Gervais wants to make you an offer, Hollywood.
The British comedian and two-time Golden Globes host says he’s ready to host the Globes again — and he’ll throw in the Oscars for a discount.
“Two for one offer. I can knock off 20 percent,” Gervais joked with “Access Hollywood” following Wednesday’s (Nov. 9) announcement that Oscar host Eddie Murphy was joining producer Brett Ratner in leaving the 2012 awards. “I’ll just stay up there.”
On a somewhat less jokey note, Gervais says he might be game to host the Globes again in January if the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will have him back. His sometimes scathing jokes at the 2011 awards played pretty well to the TV audience but ruffled some feathers among the attendees.
“They haven’t asked me officially yet, and I don’t know whether I’d say yes,” Gervais tells “Access.” “It’s very tempting — it’s tempting [because] for three hours, I’m the most feared man in L.A., so that’s nice.
“I think NBC wants me to do it,” he adds, “but [the] Hollywood Foreign Press have got to want me as well. It’s their event. It’s their party.”
There’s no word on whether Gervais has cleared a return to the Globes with Johnny Depp.
