The coroner’s report from the death of “Rizzoli & Isles” star Lee Thompson Young has been released, revealing the late actor suffered from both bipolar disorder and depression. Young committed suicide in August, at age 29.
According to then coroner’s findings, Young took medication for the bipolar disorder and “appeared okay” the last time he spoke with his doctor on August 19, the New York Daily News reports. Authorities found Lithium and Quetiapine Fumarate in his residence, as well as in his bloodstream.
No other drugs or alcohol were found in his system. Young’s doctor was also aware of no previous suicidal threats or attempts. The report lists a “makeshift altar” located in the actor’s closet with “miscellaneous religious items displayed.” However, a friend says any attempt to link Young’s suicide with his faith is a “gross mischaracterization.”
