Before the event even began, the hashtag was filled with questions about the misogyny and apparent ignorance of rape culture displayed in his hit single, “Blurred Lines.”

Although VH1 kicked off the question and answer session by vaguely alluding to the controversy, Thicke didn’t exactly answer.

He did tackle some difficult questions about why he chose to write an album for his wife, Paula Patton, from whom he is separated after cheating allegations. Actually, most answers were about his ex, which does make sense since the album is called “Paula.”
