Mara will play Lisbeth Salander, a genius haunted by her horrible childhood, who teams up with journalist Mikael Blomkvist (James Bond himself, Daniel Craig) to solve a series of decades-old murders.

]]>The crime thriller is based on the first book in Stieg Larsson’s best-selling series of books knows as the Millenium Trilogy. The series includes “Dragon,” “The Girl Who Played With Fire” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.” There has been no talk of making the complete trilogy into a trilogy of movies, but one has to think if “Dragon” does well, the next two would quickly follow. This is the English-language version of the movie; a version was released in Sweden in 2009.  Rooney was last seen in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” remake that hit theaters back in April and will next be seen in the Facebook movie “The Social Network,” due out Oct. 1.
