rupauls drag race season 6 cast transgender she mail logo 'RuPaul's Drag Race' drops 'she mail' intro, apologizes for transphobic slurLogo’s reality hit “RuPaul’s Drag Race” has made significant changes to its program after outcry following language and segments that activists deemed offensive to transgender people.

The drag queens competing for the title on Season 6 of the series took part in a March challenge called “Female or She-male,” in which the contestants had to identify whether a closely cropped photo showed a woman or a former “Drag Race” contestant. “She-male” is considered a slur in the transgender community, and trans activists immediately decried the show for being transphobic.

After Logo initially released a statement acknowledging the “concerns around” the segment and pledging to share “a diverse rage of trans stories across all of our screens and look forward to featuring positive and groundbreaking stories of trans people in the future,” the network has gone one step further.

“Logo has pulled the episode from all of our platforms and that challenge will not appear again,” the network says in a release to the Huffington Post. “Furthermore, we are removing the ‘You’ve got she-mail’ intro from new episodes of the series. We did not intend to cause any offense, but in retrospect we realize that it was insensitive. We sincerely apologize.”
