rush limbaugh slams beyonce bow down gi Rush Limbaugh stupidly slams Beyonce's 'Bow Down' as anti feminist

Rush Limbaugh went on a remarkably uneducated rant about Beyonce on his talk show, basically slamming her as the anti-Christ of feminism. Apparently Limbaugh thinks Blue Ivy Carter‘s mom has done “a 180” since her days fronting the hip-pop girl power group, Destiny’s Child.
“Their songs were attempts to inspire young women not to take any grief from men,” Limbaugh says of Destiny’s Child. “Beyonce, now having been married, having been impregnated and giving birth to Blue Ivy, is going out on a new tour and they may as well call it “the Bow Down, B**** Tour.” Limbaugh is referring to Bey’s new single, “Bow Down/I Been On,” released  earlier this week on her blog.
“Beyonce’s now saying, ‘Go ahead and put up with it,'” Rush opines. “And you know why? I’ll tell you why. Because she got married. She’s married to a rich guy. She’s even calling herself ‘Mrs. Carter’ on the tour. She has shelved ‘Beyonce.’ She’s no longer being called that. She’s gonna call herself “Mrs. Carter” on the Bow Down, B****es Tour.” Rush’s characterization is not exactly accurate. Beyonce’s husband of five years, Jay-Z, was born Shawn Carter, and the name of her upcoming world tour is the “Mrs. Carter Show.” But, hey, why bother with facts?
Limbaugh goes on to criticize the meaning behind Beyonce’s new song. “The advice to these women is, ‘Go ahead and put up with it. Put up with it now. Bow down, b****es,'” Rush explains. “Because why? She got married. She married the rich guy and she now understands. She now understands it’s worth it to bow down, and so now she’s passing on this advice.”

In the future, before Limbaugh slams the meaning behind a song, he might want to actually listen to the lyrics. It only takes a matter of seconds listening to “Bow Down” to know Limbaugh is just blowing hot air — and disgusting hot air, at that. The lyrics of the first verse of “Bow Down” include:
“I took some time to live my life
But don’t think I’m just his little wife
Don’t get it twsited, get it twisted
This my s*** … Bow down, b****es”

So … pretty much the opposite of Limbaugh’s characterization.
During Rush’s rant, he credits an op/ed in The Telegraph as the original source of ire, but it seems he barely skimmed the article if he’s going to pin his flub on the “angry woman” who wrote the story. Felicity Capon makes some pretty good points about the trajectory of Beyonce’s music, and she also gets the meaning behind the song right — Limbaugh just wildly misconstrues her words. As for Capon, she writes on Twitter, “Strange to hear my name mentioned in relation to the Beyonce piece by US radio show host Rush Limbaugh … Wasn’t that angry!”
Here’s some video of Limbaugh’s ridiculous rant:
