The ceremonial first pitch is a sacred honor at any baseball game. Alright, so it’s more of a promotional opportunity. Still, it’s a time-honored baseball tradition. Now, the bar has been raised thanks to the San Diego Padres.
While getting a famous actor or singer to throw a ball is one thing, what about a dinosaur? That’s right, at the Padres game on Wednesday (May 7), a Tyrannosaurus Rex threw out the first pitch. They’re extinct though, so it was actually a person in a very elaborate T-Rex costume, promoting the “Walking With Dinosaurs” stage show.
The T-Rex uses its mouth to hurl the ball, then tries to fight the Padres mascot, the Swinging Friar. Good luck topping that experience, any other Major League Baseball team.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
