50th super bowl host city gi San Francisco to host 50th Super Bowl, Houston gets Super Bowl 51

The homes of Super Bowl 50 and 51 have been named. Though Super Bowl 50 isn’t until 2016, it’s been announced that the NFL championship game will head to the west coast, emanating from the San Francisco, Cal. Bay Area.
Team owners voted on the location Tuesday (May 21), agreeing to hold the game at the San Francisco 49ers new stadium, due to be open for the 2014 season, the Associated Press reports. Levi’s Stadium is located in Santa Clarita, Cal., roughly 40 miles from their current home at Candlestick Park.
“We are so excited to be able to be able to put on the ‘Golden Super Bowl’ in the Golden State,” 49ers CEO Jed York says.
The following year, the Super Bowl will be held in Houstin, Tex. at the Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans. It will be the city’s third time as host, after games in 1974 and 2004. It was previously announced that Super Bowl 48, in 2014, will be in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan Area. In 2015, Super Bowl 49 will be in Phoenix, Az. at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
