guillermo diaz scandal abc 'Scandal': Guillermo Diaz talks Huck's revelation and his explosive reactionAs Season 3 of “Scandal” continues to prove it’ll be just as shocking and thrilling as seasons past, Thursday’s (Oct. 10) episode blew fans minds with a handful of flashbacks that illuminated just why Olivia (Kerry Washington) and her father Rowan (Joe Morton) are as dysfunctional as they are, while also further revealing details of Liv and Huck’s (Guillermo Diaz) history.

The biggest moment, however, took place in the present when Huck, Liv’s ever-dedicated Gladiator, pieced together the reality that his savior is, in fact, the daughter of the B613 baddie who ruined his life. His explosive attack on Liv in the parking garage shocks fans and could possibly break their bond permanently.

Speaking with THR, Diaz admits that he finds the attack, however shocking, a bit justified. “It’s a moment that we’ve never seen on the show before, and the last two people you expect to be in this type of situation are Huck and Olivia,” he explains. “He’s her protector, her guard dog; he looks out for her physically and makes sure she’s protected. The moment when he attacks her and throws her up against the car, I don’t think he knew what he was doing until a couple of seconds after it happened … But at the same time, part of him feels like she deserves it a bit because that was a pretty big secret to keep from Huck — that her father was the one that put him in this hole that kept him from seeing his wife and child again. As shocking as it is to see him become physical with Olivia, it’s a bit justifiable.”

As for whether Olivia will ever be able to regain Huck’s trust, Diaz says he thinks they’ll be able to heal and rebuild, while adding that he doesn’t think they’ll speak of the attack with the other Gladiators. “It’s information that they don’t really need to know,” he confessed. “I think they’re going to keep that part of it private.”

The episode was also the first time Huck and Rowan had come face to face since Liv made the deal for his safety. Diaz teases that their next interaction might not be so civil. “It’s not going to be good,” he says. “It’s going to be a scary, scary confrontation between Huck and Rowan. I think that’s saying a lot right there.”

We can’t wait.

“Scandal” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
