sean bean tnt legends Will Sean Bean finally cheat death on TNT's 'Legends'?If Sean Bean is featured in something, usually it means his days are numbered. The actor has died in both TV and film in a variety of ways including beheading, being buried alive, and freezing to death.

In TNT’s new drama “Legends,” executive produced by “24” and “Homeland’s” Howard Gordon, Bean plays Martin Odum, an undercover agent working for the FBI’s Deep Cover Operations division.

Odum has to assume several different identities at the drop of a hat in the show, all the while trying to maintain some sort of normalcy at home in his “real life.”

Bean tells reporters at the summer TV critics’ press tour he was attracted to the role in part because it gave him the opportunity to “play multiple characters,” something the actor surprisingly hasn’t done before.

He also says it’s hard not to let his different legends affect his real life. “It is sometimes hard to switch off. The more intense the production, the more you’re involved, there is a residue you can take home with you,” he says.

In reference to whether Bean’s presence means sudden death for the show’s protagonist, executive producer David Wilcox says, “It is a fun benefit and adds mystery” to the series.

Bean assures viewers he will be around as Martin for “a while,” but the questions remain how, when and if his character could meet his demise.

“Legends” premieres Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TNT.
