charlie hunnam fifty shades script approval 'Sons of Anarchy's' Charlie Hunnam wanted 'Fifty Shades of Grey' script approval

While the official reason “Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam exited the movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” so close to production start was his busy TV schedule, many believe he wasn’t comfortable with the media attention he received or didn’t want to be typecast in the role. That shouldn’t be too surprising, considering he was already getting underwear left on his porch by fans of the series.
However, a new report adds another possible issue to the pile. According to THR, Charlie was looking for input in the movie’s script. They cite a source who says Hunnam submitted detailed script notes, which were received well by the studio. After that, the source claims Hunnam tried to get further script approval and the studio declined.
Another source tells the site that Charlie had issues with the movie’s creative team and director Sam Taylor-Johnson. It’s believed that the problems were settled in early October, though. Still, it all came to a head again on October 11, THR says. Hunnam’s management team tried to convince him to stay on board, but the announcement of his leaving the role was made the next day.
On the other hand, Dakota Johnson is still fully committed to the movie, even with the loss of her co-star. Now they just need a new Christian Grey.
