As an outspoken advocate for many causes dedicated to bettering the world, it makes sense that actress Sophia Bush has been tapped to host the 2013 Do Something Awards.
VH1 and DoSomething.org announced on Monday (July 22) that the “One Tree Hill” alum will take the reins of the annual event honoring people who are working to improve their communities.
Joining Bush are celebrity presenters Malin Akerman, Lucy Hale, Cynthia Nixon, Russell Simmons, Aisha Tyler and VH1?s Jason Dundas. This year’s celebrity honorees are Patrick Dempsey, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jennifer Hudson, LL Cool J and Kelly Osbourne for being leaders of social change, along with five young “do-gooders” being heralded for spearheading initiatives to build stronger societies. The awards show will feature musical performances and will grant one of the five young honorees with a grand prize of $100,000 for their cause.
The 2013 Do Something Awards air on Wednesday, July 31 at 8 p.m. ET on VH1.
