TMZ reports that “Star Wars” child star Jake Lloyd suffers from schizophrenia and reportedly abused his mother weeks before his recent car racing arrest.
According to a statement his mother Lisa gave to police after he assaulted her on March 26, Lloyd began showing signs of schizophrenia when when he was 19 years old. Now age 26, his mother claims the family is committed to getting Lloyd more help once he’s released from jail.
Lisa called the cops on March 26 to report that her son had gone off his medication. The young actor/director had come over to his mother’s house, began yelling that she had ruined his life. He then pushed her down and reportedly stomped on her three or four times, causing slight injuries to her arm.
Lloyd, who is most known for his role as young Anakin Skywalker in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,” was arrested over the weekend (June 20) for reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license following a car chase with Charleston, S.C. police officers.
