Legal drama “Suits” will return for Season 4 in 2014. USA announced the renewal of the top 5-rated summer series along with a new overall deal for the show’s creator and showrunner.

Although there is no premiere date included in the renewal announcement, fans can expect that “Suits” Season 4 will premiere at some point in the summer of 2014 — the show has always begun its run in the summer, although Seasons 2 and 3 have both finished with six episodes in the winter. The current Season 3 will return with those episodes early in 2014.

“As a leading cable drama, ‘Suits’ is at the top of its game and continues to grow in key demographics, drawing a passionate, young and loyal audience,” USA president Chris McCumber said in a statement. “Aaron Korsh consistently pushes the boundaries of storytelling and the series promises to deliver a provocative fourth season.”

Set in a high-end New York City law firm, “Suits” follows a pair of lawyers, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). The twist is that Mike, a genius with perfect recall, doesn’t actually have a law degree. If he were to be found out, both men’s careers would be ruined. Still, this threat only adds an extra bit of the thrill that the high-flying lawyers crave.

Along with the renewal, Korsh has signed an overall deal with Universal Cable Productions. He will remain with “Suits” while still developing new programs for the studio.
