Tamar Braxton‘s new single “Love and War” was only released last night on iTunes, but already it’s hitting the top of the charts. The 35-year-old R&B singer has a new album coming out until 2013, and this is the first song to come off of it.
The track shot to the number 1 spot on the overall iTunes songs chart today, beating out performers like Rihanna, will.i.am and Taylor Swift for the honor. “Love and War” also became number 1 on the R&B/Soul chart, rising over Alicia Keys and Ne-Yo.
If you haven’t heard the song yet, you likely will. Radio stations around the country started playing it at 9 a.m. ET this morning and will continue to do so once an hour until 11 p.m. tonight. This news couldn’t come on a better day for Braxton either because the second season of her reality show, “Tamar & Vince,” airs tonight on WE tv.
