Patricia Krentcil, the woman who caused a media firestorm after she was accused of second-degree child endangerment after her then-5-year-old daughter Anna showed up at school with a sunburn that is thought to be caused by Krentcil taking her to a tanning salon, appeared on “Today” Monday (May 21) to defend herself.
Part of the reason Krentcil received such outcry in the media is because she herself is very, very tan – from going to tanning salon City Tropics up to 20 times a month. Now she wants to set the record straight and say that she is a good mother.
“I’m up at 3 in the morning, making sure all the wash is done … I make pancakes, pack their bags and they’re all off and gone. Then I work all day, inside and outside of this house,” says Krentcil. “I’m fighting the charges because I’m not guilty. Every allegation was completely wrong and I just want people to leave us alone.”
Krentcil continues, “I didn’t do anything wrong. Is there something wrong about getting your nails done? Or somebody that smokes too much? Or somebody who overeats? And if this is such a problem, why wasn’t this said years ago?”
“I’m sorry I’m tan. I like to be tan. It just feels good. I really feel like moms and dads need to step off,” finishes the New Jersey native.
