The couple was at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico when Bluher popped the question, according to E!News. Taylor accepted personally designed gold and diamond ring along with the marriage proposal.
It was apparently a rather grand affair. Bluher had a tent set up on the beach in front of the couple’s oceanfront suite, complete with flowers and a candle-lined path. Also, John Bluher did that neat uncork-champagne-with-a-saber trick, which couldn’t have hurt his chances in convincing his girlfriend to say yes.
Considering Armstrong’s bumpy relationship path, a happy ending was probably in order. Her estranged husband, Russell Armstrong, was found dead in his home in 2011, having committed suicide by hanging. Now, things are good. “I am so much happier than I have ever been. I never thought I would feel this way,” Armstrong said in an interview. “John and I have an equal respect for each other. We have a real friendship and partnership.”
No date has been announced for the wedding, nor is there any word on whether Bluher will appear on “The Real Housewives” in the future.
