The Disney Channel is ready to unleash their next musical movie and it’s hitting the air in July. Hoping to repeat the success of “High School Musical,” no doubt, the network’s new project is “Teen Beach Movie.”
It’s not the most creative title of all time, but “High School Musical” wasn’t either, and it became a pretty big trilogy. “Teen Beach Movie” stars Ross Lynch, who has his own Disney Channel show, “Austin & Ally.”
The plot for the movie is a bit strange. Following some kind of surfboarding accident, Lynch’s character and the female lead, Maia Mitchell, wake up in their favorite movie, a surfer version of “West Side Story.” Then all of the characters in the movie fall in love with them, of course.

Check out the video above to hear one of the movie’s songs, “Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’.” “Teen Beach Movies” airs July 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel.

You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
