It’s a big day for Tenacious D, the band made up of comedian/actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass. The duo announced on their website that a new album, called “Rize of the Fenix,” is due out May 15 and to go along with said new album, they are embarking on a tour.

“Rize” is the duo’s third studio album, following the 2006 release “Pick of Destiny” and 2001 release “Tenacious D.” In addition to Black and Gass, “Rize” will also feature John Spiker and John Konesky, who have played with Tenacious D in the past, and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Nirvana.
