andi dorfman chris harrison 'The Bachelorette': Chris Harrison considers Andi Dorfman 'somewhat controlling'

Zap2it: How do you assess Andi Dorfman as the newest person doing the choosing as “The Bachelorette”?
Chris Harrison: It’s interesting to see the process she takes in this, because she is a methodical, somewhat controlling person. That’s her life as an assistant district attorney, and she’s really good at reading people. She’s almost like a detective, an investigator.
She gets to know these guys and really breaks down not only what they’re saying, but why they’re saying it and what it means. She’s a very intellectual woman, and she’s really a different type of person to go through this with, for sure.
Zap2it: With both “The Bachelorette” and “The Bachelor,” you’ve been part of the process many times now. How do you see your growth as host of the overall franchise?

Chris Harrison: When I was a young sportscaster, my mentor took me aside when I made a mistake one night. I was trying to act like it didn’t matter, and he said, “Look, I’ve been doing this a long time. If I make a mistake, it’s not that big a deal, because people know who I am. If you make a mistake, it’s different. Nobody knows you yet, and they need to learn to trust you.”

I feel the same way about this … not only that I’ve earned the respect of the fans, but also of our cast members. I think it speaks pretty well that all of these people will come back and sit in the chair and let me interview them, whether it’s good, bad or ugly.
