With the 2014 Winter Olympics taking place in Sochi, Russia, “The Daily Show” introduced a whole new set of games. In light of Russia’s controversial laws regarding homosexuality, the 2014 Sochi Homophobic Olympics, countries compete to see who has the worst anti-gay legislation on the books.
While Russia has made headlines for its laws, India, Nigeria and Uganda have also recently passed legislation that makes homosexuality illegal. The United States doesn’t have much of a shot at a gold medal in the Homophobic Olympics at this point, but they shouldn’t be counted out just yet. After all, as correspondent Aasif Mandvi points out, “The Bachelor” star Juan Pablo Galavis is making moves of his own.
