anne heche michael j fox show gi 'The Michael J. Fox Show' adds Anne Heche as rival newscasterAnne Heche will get another shot on an NBC comedy in the coming season — and the show she’s on will actually air in season.

Heche, who starred in the burned-off “Save Me” for the network earlier this year, has joined “The Michael J. Fox Show” for a multi-episode run, EW reports.

The show centers on Mike Henry (Fox), a beloved former New York newscaster who retired a few years earlier to deal with his Parkinson’s disease. In the pilot, his family and former boss (Wendell Pierce) convince him to go back to work.

Heche will play Susan Rodriguez-Jones, the current news anchor at the station and Mike’s former producer. They share a long history together, including an incident from an earlier stop in their careers that has led to lingering animosity between them.

“The Michael J. Fox Show” is set to premiere Thursday, Sept. 26 on NBC. Check Zap2it’s fall TV calendar for more premiere dates.
