Michael Jace, an actor best known for his work as Officer Julien Lowe on “The Shield” and Terrell on “Southland,” was detained Monday (May 19) in connection to his wife April Jace’s shooting death, reports L.A.’s KCAL-TV.
April Jace was found dead of gunshot wounds around 8:30 p.m. PT at the Jace residence. KCAL reports that Michael was taken into custody for questioning but has not been arrested at this time.
UPDATE: Early Tuesday, L.A. police charged Jace with murder in the case. “At this moment the motive of the murder is believed to be domestic violence,” the LAPD says in a news release.
TMZ reports Michael called 911 himself, saying, “I shot my wife,” and stayed on the phone with the dispatcher until the police arrived. Neighbors of the Jaces in the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles reported hearing shots fired in their neighborhood.
