j lo the talk 'The Talk': Jennifer Lopez on judging 'American Idol' so far“The Talk” welcomed Jennifer Lopez Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 19). It turns out she’s really good friends with “Talk” co-host Leah Remini. In fact, J-Lo’s family even bunked with Leah for awhile when they had sold one house and hadn’t been able to move into their new one.

“I loved staying in Leah’s house. Everything is meticulous, which can kind of be a lot sometimes,” Lopez laughs.

Here’s what’s hard … It’s easy when they’re really good and it’s easy when they’re really bad. It’s when they’re in the middle. They have a good voice, but they don’t have that ‘it’ factor. Or they have a look and they have a vibe to them, but the voice isn’t all the way there,” says Lopez, which we can understand. She also is quick to dispel rumors that there’s any behind-the-scenes drama happening already. “It’s so much fun … I love everybody, it runs like clockwork. I love Nigel. I love Ryan, contrary to what some people say. I love Steven, I love Randy. Everything’s great.” Lopez also says that some contestants are very nervous, but the judges try to help them. “When they’re nervous, I try to go, ‘Listen, I can hear in your voice that you’re nervous. Take a deep breath, c’mon baby. We want you to do good.'” She also isn’t sure if she would have been successful trying to make it via “American Idol.” “Oh god, it’s a really hard process. Maybe if I would’ve had a great audition that day, great, but if I didn’t … But that’s how the business is. It’s just kind of a fast-forward version of the business.” Watch this clip below of J-Lo showing off her “Idol” judging faces. “The Talk” airs weekday afternoons on CBS and “American Idol” comes back in January 2011.
