the voice adds blake shelton coach nbc getty 320 'The Voice': Country singer Blake Shelton fills final coaching slot

“The Voice” has its panel of judges! NBC announces that Country Music Award winner Blake Shelton will join Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine as the fourth and last member of the coaching team.
“I’m not sure ‘The Voice’ knows what they signed on for by bringing me on the show,” jokes Shelton. “I know this for sure; Christina, Cee Lo, Adam and I are going to have a blast and I am extremely excited to be part of a show that recognizes true vocal talent.”
Shelton’s first single, “Austin,” spent five weeks in the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs charts. And his duet with Trace Adkins, “Hillbilly Bone,” swept all the country collaboration award from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, CMT and ACA Award shows. He’s currently engaged to fellow country singer, Miranda Lambert.
“The Voice” is NBC’s entry into the TV reality singing competition battle with “American Idol” and “X Factor.” The four coaches will each select and mentor singers into artists during the blind auditions. They will then use their personal resources including songwriters, producers, and friends in high places to help their teams evolve. In the end, America will decide which singer will be worthy of the grand prize of a recording contract and $100,000.

“The Voice” premieres on April 26 with host Carson Daly.
