On Monday’s (April 21) “The Voice” live show, country singer Kristen Merlin took on Sugarland’s “Stay,” which sounded great — at least what the viewers could hear of it. A little over halfway through the song, Kristen’s microphone stopped working on live TV in front of millions of people. Yikes.

But Merlin was barely fazed. She took our her earpiece and just kept singing. Presumably some of the studio audience and the judges were close enough to hear the rest of the song.

After she finished, Adam Levine was practically jumping out of his chair to praise her professionalism. He says he would have been a puddle on the floor if that had happened to him and then cites her grace in the moment and also her good vocal performance.
