tnt renews falling skies major crimes the last ship TNT renews 'The Last Ship,' 'Falling Skies' and 'Major Crimes'TNT has ordered another season of three of its hit summer dramas.

“Falling Skies” has received an order for 10-episode fifth and final season, which will see the post-alien invasion group of survivors wrap up their story in 2015.

Also receiving renewal are freshman program “The Last Ship” and “The Closer” spinoff “Major Crimes.” The second season of “The Last Ship” is receiving a 13-episode order, up from 10 for its first season, and “Major Crimes” is getting a 15-episode Season 4.

All three dramas are among the Top 5 scripted series in viewers and adults 25-54 on basic cable this summer and have helped make TNT as the No. 1 basic cable network so far in summer 2014 in both viewers and its target demo.

“TNT’s refreshed and recharged drama brand is soaring this summer, and that is due in large part to these three enormously popular dramas,” says president of programming for TNT Michael Wright. “‘The Last Ship’ has become this summer’s top drama among key adult demos with its epic scale and visceral storytelling. ‘Major Crimes’ continues to be one of the most enduring and popular crime-drama franchises on television. And ‘Falling Skies’ has begun an ambitious and thrilling story arc this summer as it sets the stage for next year’s climactic final season.”

TNT’s summer dramas continue in August, with new drama “Legends” and returning dramedy “Franklin & Bash” premiering on Aug. 13 and “Dallas” premiering its third season on Aug. 18.
