The rumor mill is in overdrive trying to figure out who will replace the soon-to-be-ousted Ann Curry at “Today.” And much of the speculation is starting to focus on a member of the “Today” family: Hoda Kotb.
Kotb currently helms the show’s lighter fourth-hour fare with talk show vet Kathie Lee Gifford. But, speculates the New York Post, Kotb’s name is being bandied about because of her background reporting hard news paired with her ability to have a little fun on the air.
Meanwhile, if Kotb shuffles up to the main event, that will leave an opening next to Kathie Lee. And Radar Online is reporting that none other than Kathie Lee’s old partner, Regis Philbin, is in the running. Philbin, 80, left “Live with Regis and Kelly” in November 2011. Philbin is already on tap to host NBC’s live Fourth of July programming.
What do you think? Would Hoda make a good partner for Matt Lauer? Would you watch a reunited Regis and Kathie Lee?
