FOX’s sophomore drama “Touch,” starring Kiefer Sutherland, has been heading toward cancellation all season and now the news is official. The show’s series finale airs tomorrow night, May 10, at 9 p.m. ET.
“Touch” premiered to much fanfare — including “24” star Sutherland’s return to FOX — and somewhat promising ratings in a special preview in January 2012. But when it returned as a regular series in March it started to bleed viewers week by week and ended Season 1 with a limp average of 7.2 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in adults 18-49.
Several revamps were made for Season 2 — new action-driven plots and the addition of Golden Globe nominee Maria Bello to the cast — but FOX also scheduled the show on Fridays and production on the series was said to be troubled.
“Touch” has been averaging a miserable 2.68 million viewers and a 0.7 in
the demo for Season 2, making its cancellation a foregone conclusion.
