Night two of “American Idol” Thursday saw the show’s ratings drop off some from its premiere, but thanks to CBS airing a full night of reruns, FOX led the night by a wide margin. Even though it was a repeat, however, “The Big Bang Theory” beat “Idol” in total viewers in their common half-hour.

“Idol” also pushed NBC’s comedies down, sending “Sean Saves the World” and “The Michael J. Fox Show” to season lows. The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on The CW were in line with their performance from a year ago.

FOX averaged 13.2 million viewers and a 7.5 rating/12 share in households in primetime, finishing well ahead of the 7.2 million viewers and 4.5/7 for No. 2 CBS. ABC (3.35 million, 2.3/4) edged NBC (3.1 million, 2.1/3) for third. The CW drew 2 million people and a 1.4/2.

FOX’s 3.8 rating among adults 18-49 nearly beat the combined total of the other four networks. CBS was the best of the rest with a 1.5, and ABC and NBC tied for third at 1.0. The CW posted a 0.4.
