“The Big Bang Theory” rebounded in a big way from last week’s season low, rising a full point among adults 18-49 and adding almost 2 million viewers with its season finale. It helped CBS score a ratings win for the night.

Also Thursday, “The Vampire Diaries” rose with its season finale, and “American Idol” was up too. The season finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” was steady with last week. On the minus side, “Rosemary’s Baby” went out with a whimper for NBC, and “Black Box” dropped for ABC.

CBS drew just under 9 million viewers and a 5.6 rating/10 share in households in primetime. FOX (6.7 million, 4.1/7) came in second, beating out ABC’s 5.5 million and 3.8/6. NBC (3.5 million, 2.3/4) took fourth, and The CW (1.4 million, 1.0/2) trailed.

Thanks to “The Big Bang Theory,” CBS also led the 18-49 demographic with a 2.2 rating. FOX finished second with a 1.9, half a point better than ABC’s 1.4. NBC posted a 1.0 and The CW a 0.6.
