big bang 1117 ratings TV ratings: 'Big Bang Theory' leads Thursday, 'Community' up just a tiny bitFast national ratings for Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011

CBS cruised to a ratings win Thursday night thanks largely to “The Big Bang Theory,” which was far and away the night’s most-watched show. “The X Factor” and “The Office” both fell, and an effort by “Community” fans to drive tune-in didn’t do much: Its numbers went up compared to last week, but only by about 100,000 viewers.

CBS averaged 12.2 million viewers and a 7.6 rating/12 share in households for the night, beating FOX (9.1 million, 5.6/8) by a pretty comfortable margin. ABC finished third with 7.45 million viewers and a 5.3/8. NBC (4.3 million, 2.8/4) took fourth. The CW currently stands at 2.6 million viewers and a 1.8/3, but those numbers are somewhat inflated because affiliates in New York and Denver aired an NFL game.

The adults 18-49 race was closer, but CBS still came out on top with a 3.1 rating. FOX grabbed second in the demographic with a 2.8, followed by ABC at 2.1 and NBC at 1.7. The CW came in at 0.8.
