Halle Berry’s sci-fi drama “Extant” had a decent premiere for CBS, earning over 9 million viewers, but it is several million below CBS’ 2013 summer hit “Under the Dome,” which premiered to 13.5 million a year ago.

Elsewhere, “Big Brother 16” and “Motive” were up by nearly half a million viewers each, while “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Taxi Brooklyn” were both down from a week ago.

“Extant” was the top show of the night, which gave CBS a win in total viewers with an average of 7.3 million and a 4.7 rating/8 share in households. NBC was second with 5.5 million, 3.4/6, followed by ABC with 3.8 million, 2.5/4, FOX at 3.7 million, 2.4/4 and The CW with 792,000 and 0.5/1.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS also won with a 1.6 rating, followed by NBC (1.3), FOX (1.2), ABC (1.0) and The CW (0.3).
